Agents will no longer sign an author with no brand or platform and a non-traditional author is dead in the water without a meaningful on-line presence. Whether we choose traditional or non-traditional publishing, an effective social media platform makes the difference in writing for fun and writing for keeps.
In a rising tide of book spam and relentless promotions and contests, readers are weary. Most have learned to un-see. So what WILL they see? How do we create a brand? A community? How do we serve current fans and cultivate future ones? How do we inspire passion for our work?
