Story in a Sentence: Creating Your Logline

Instructor Name: Marcy Kennedy

Length: Two Weeks

Description:

Quick! Can you describe your book in fewer than 30 words?

Whether you’re a self-published author who needs a log-line to use as a marketing tool, or want to go traditional and will be pitching an agent at a conference or through a query, a one-sentence log-line will be one of your essential tools.

This class is also ideal for people who are just starting to write a novel. Being able to sum up what your book is about will give you a guidepost for writing the next 50,000-100,000 words. A logline is essential for building a foundation for a clear and powerful story.

At the start of the class, you’ll be invited to a private WANATribe group where Marcy will provide you with a detailed lesson that walks you through the elements of a standout logline and is filled with examples. You’ll submit your logline, and every participant will receive personalized feedback on how to improve.

Members will also get a chance to learn from each other and form a group that will remain to help them with loglines in the future.

Class includes a 45-minute webinar in the WANA Digital Classroom. Details will be posted in our WANATribe group.

Class Size: Limit 25 students
